Yesterday the Christmas Elves took possession of my being. I started decorating the house, like I had intended and then couldn't stop. It was fun, it was totally different from anything else I had been doing all week. I was sweating and climbing and climbing down and trying and changing like a demon. I realized there were some "bald spots" around the house. And just like that, I was at Target, mainly to get poinsettias. Except that then, I saw this silly little snowman. He really is. About 3 feet tall. And I couldn't help myself, even though I'd vowed not to make any more Christmas purchases. Then there was some of that really tacky fake snow, right close by and of course, a snowman needs snow. Even in Fort Lauderdale. And right next to the snow were little twinkle lights. I am somewhat appalled that I got so cute...
I had a parent-teacher conference at LoML's school at 2:00 PM so I met her at her school and told her I'd gotten a rather strange phone call--high pitched voice saying something about elves that were busy at our house. Being the fatalist that she is, LoML immediately wondered if they'd come and gotten her daddy's boat or stolen all our stuff. The wonder and delight when we walked up to our front door--and the squeals of delight as she zoomed here and there all around the house looking at all the decorations that were up. "How did they do that?" was her question, over and over again. Sometimes Christmas gets here before Christmas...
Heehee! Enjoy it!
